The Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway runs from Virginia to the Florida Keys, and one of the most beautiful stretches is through the St. Augustine area.   A day on our local Intracoastal will allow you to enjoy all of the unique sights of our historic “Ancient City”.  You will have a great view of the downtown skyline, fort “Castillo de San Marcos”, the Menendez Landing Site, the recently restored “Bridge of Lions”, the St. Augustine Lighthouse and much more.  As you cruise south it is not unusual see Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin, sometimes manatees or sea turtles and many species of birds living in the natural saltwater marshes and oyster beds lining the shores.

As you approach the Matanzas Inlet you will see Fort Matanzas surrounded on both sides of the water by almost 300 acres of natural park lands.  There is a Visitor’s Center where you can get off the boat to view a short film about the fort and area’s history, take a walk on the nature trail or enjoy a shaded picnic spot.  You can also take the passenger ferry to the fort for a Ranger guided tour of the inside, all free of charge. The Matanzas Inlet area is also the perfect place to anchor the boat to enjoy swimming and playing on the sand bars and beautiful sandy beaches.

The Intracoastal has plenty of fish to catch for the fishing folks aboard! Depending on the time of year you may hook up with a Redfish, Flounder, Trout, Ladyfish, Sheepshead, Bluefish, Tarpon or Snook just to name a few.   You are licensed to catch them all while aboard “Yacht Of Fun”!  For those who would like to dine at a waterfront restaurant, there are some favorites to choose from.  Mike will be happy to discuss those options with you.
